welcome to Return From Wandering

Quiet the mind.

Ancient Meditative Modalities- effective today.

- Even monks on mountian tops need a place to repose.

So much of our stress can come from the mind wandering and worrying.  Restless thoughts, irritability, fears and worries cause a lack of inner peace and the inability to focus on what is most important to us in our lives.

Yet, even though we know that meditation is a great way to relax and ease stress while improving our health, well-being and longevity, many people find it difficult to meditate

So, how do we calm the mind?

The same way they did thousands of years ago.

Anyone who has ever tried to meditate knows how hard it can be to quiet the mind. The ancient yogies recognized this challange, and rather than wrestle with the mind directly, found that the breath is a direct doorway for cultivating a deep meditative focus that allows stress to disolve and the body/mind/spirit to rejuvinate.

As we begin to calm the breath, we begin to calm the mind. As we begin to calm the mind, we begin to calm the body.

When the mind is in unison with the breath, the mind ceases to wander. Instead, the wayward mind  seeks repose deep within and becomes undisturbed, tranquil and joyous.

"My primary care physician suggested that I try a Meditation practice for my anxiety and insomnia. The first time that I sat down with Pat for a session I was impressed. What she taught me was so simple that I could not believe the deep and profound peace that came over me. In my whole life -I don't think that I have ever calmed my mind so completely. " -David G.
